WALK TO PREVENT & FIGHT DIABETES 1 STEP AT A TIME...

What could be better than walking through a beautiful park on a crisp, autumn Sunday afternoon. How about walking to raise money to fight diabetes?

The 15th annual Walktoberfest promises to be better than ever.

Come join the Cosmopolitan Show-Me Club as we stride step-by-step to help provide funds for diabetes prevention, treatment and cure.      Walktoberfest registration and other activities will take place at 1 p.m.,October. 4th, in the Lamb Shelter at Columbia's Cosmopolitan Park. Walk will start at 2 p.m. 

Before and after the walk, we'll gather for food, and plenty of things to do. Our vision for this event is not only to raise money but also to educate people on this disease while having fun and staying healthy. We will have staff from the Cosmopolitan Diabetes and Pediatric Endocrinology Center provide information about diabetes. We will have live music, a chance to win prizes, a bounce house, face painting, and crafts for the kids. A Fire Truck will be there at 1 p. m. Plus some great raffle prizes. All of the proceeds from Walktoberfest will benefit local organizations that work to prevent and treat diabetes.

There are five levels of sponsorship: Diamond for $1,000; Platinum for $750; Gold for $500; Silver for $250 and Bronze for $100. Sponsorship rewards vary according to the level selected and include event T-shirts, recognition in a newspaper advertisement and on promotional displays, and for the Diamond level, two complimentary dinners at the Columbia Country Club during a Show-Me Cosmo general meeting.
