Minutes from the General Meeting of
the Show Me Cosmopolitan Club
September 3, 2020
 
President Tim Echternach called the meeting to order.
Jan Barry gave a prayer blessing the food.
Guests:
Guests were introduced included: Tim Dollins, Governor of the Year; Don Gentry, Treasurer of MOKAN federation; Linda Gentry, International Cosmo of the Year; Jim Owen from the Breakfast Club; Dean Barry from the Breakfast Club; Phil Hanson, past International President; and David House, Executive Director of Cosmopolitan International.
Speaker:          
David House was our speaker.  He gave an update on the public relations team.  This team is working on a presentation for the fall that will hopefully attract millennials.  We need spread the word better to younger people to join Cosmopolitans.   
He also discussed Club Runner and plans to start another alternative for a much cheaper rate.
He then presented Awards and pens to many of our members and guests.  The last award was to Judy Weitkemper: past international president pin, a plaque with gavel and life membership.  Judy thanked everyone.
Cosmopolitan Golf Outing:
Jim Dunn discussed the golf outing on October 2nd.  It will start at 9:00am at LA Nickels.  Foursomes are needed.  The fee is $20.00 and includes cart.  Each team will play nine holes.  Bring a friend to share about Cosmopolitan Club and enjoy golfing. 
October 6th at 5:30pm at Cosmo Corner the traveling trophy will be presented.

Corrections to the newsletter:
Jessica Bernhardt’s birthday is September 25.  Date of Board Meeting for September will be the 22nd.  Bill Tetro made a motion to accept changes and John Kadlec seconded the motion.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bill Tetro gave the treasurer’s report. We're ok.
Mobility Cart:
Because of Covid the cart activity did not go as planned.  Tim painted our cart purple and gold.  John Kadlec donated an emblem for us to put on the car.
Walktoberfest:
This year we will be doing a virtual walk, so you could walk anytime in October – anywhere.  Although representatives of the club will be at Lamb Shelter on October 4th for those who wish to walk.  The activities will be videoed to show on social media.  Tim will be emailing us information on sponsor levels, sponsor sign up sheets, sign up sheets for walkers, and donation sheets for walkers.  Walkers will pay $25.00 and receive a T-shirt.
Cosmo Building:
The board will be meeting on a proposal from the luncheon club to assist with funding due to COVID.  The proposal will be presented at the next general meeting.
Birthday bags:
Birthday bags were presented to CeCe and Kay.

The total was $75.00.  Brett Benton was the winner of $37.00.

Minutes of Board Meeting for the Show-Me Cosmopolitan Club
September 10, 2020
 
 A special Zoom meeting was held
September 10,2020.
 
Those in attendance were Kay Brejcha, Sara & Tim Echternach, Brian McNeill, & Bill Tetro
The decision was made to assist the Luncheon Club with the purchase of a diabetic dog by donating $500.00.  The motion carried.  (Some people voted by email who were not in attendance at the meeting)This will be presented to club members at the October meeting for a final vote.
The consensus was to continue to do the board meeting on Zoom until the COVID crises is more contained.
The Walktoberfest was discussed and board members were encouraged to contact previous sponsors and to encourage walkers.
The meeting was adjourned.
 
Zoom Board of Directors Meeting
September 22, 2020
The Zoom meeting was called to order at 5:36 by President Tim Echternach.  Those in attendance were: Brett Benton, Kay Brejcha, Tim Echternach, Bill Giddings, Elain McCoy, Brian McNeill, and Aaron Zanor.
The Walktoberfest: was discussed.  As of this moment we have two sponsors and a few walkers. Several board members agreed to be sponsors and will bring their money at the next meeting.  For names to be on the T-shirts we need the information by Monday the 28th.
3 – Club Social:  Bill Giddings made the motion that we not participate in the three-club social at this time.  Elaine McCoy seconded the motion.  The motion passed.
Building Funds:  The board previously agreed to fund for three months at $100.00 a month.  Larry and CeCe Benton have paid $100.00 for one month.  That should be payment for four months. (We were asked to pay $100.00 a month until Bingo returns.) Bill Giddings explained the building has its own fund.  Bill was asked to look into meeting with the building committee to see exactly where we stand without the income from Bingo. 
Building Proposal:  This was tabled until we hear from the Building Committee on what they suggest on improvements and until health restrictions are less.
Speaker:  Tim is waiting to hear back from someone.  He does have a back-up speaker.
Christmas program:  Tim also has a musical group lined up for our Christmas program.
Member appreciation:  Tim suggested that we do something to show our appreciation to the club members for their work and loyalty to the club.
