Minutes of the August 6, 2020 General Meeting
of the Show-Me Cosmopolitan Club
The meeting was called to order by President, Tim Echternach.
Blessing of food: Jan Barry led the prayer.
Speaker: Kayla Zownitzer from the 13th Circuit Children's Division, talked about foster care program. She covered the process when a call is received; how decisions are made concerning the safety and welfare
of the child; goals for families to be reunited; and possible adoptions. Her talk was informative, detailed and her personal experience made the problems more real to all of us.
Perfect Attendance Pins: Perfect attendance pins were handed out to people who were not at the July
meeting.
Birthday bags: Were handed out to those in attendance.
Business: Tim discussed what we know about the Walktoberfest so far and announced a final decision
will be made by the board at their board meeting.
50/50: The 50/50 raffle was won by our guest speaker.
The meeting was adjourned by all standing and saying the pledge to the United States flag.
Board Meeting Minutes for the Show-Me Cosmopolitan Club
August 23, 2020
The meeting opened at 5:50pm. Those in attendance were as follows: Brett Benton, Kay Brejcha, Sara & Tim Echternach, Brian McNeill, Todd Shelmadine, and Bill Tetro.
Mail: President Tim Echternach gave a report on mail received. Great Circle had a form requesting funds in the amount of $500.00. No action was taken on the request at this time. We also received a thank you note from the Food Bank.
Diabetes Center: Tim wants to meet with them to see about setting up a table during November for National Diabetes Awareness month. November 14th is National Diabetes Day and the board agreed we should do something special on that day, including having information on Cosmopolitan Clubs.
Finance Report: Bill Tetro gave a detailed report. He reported tax information is ready to be turned in. A detailed report can be obtained from Bill or Kay.
Building Proposal: The proposal was tabled until all board members are present.
Walktoberfest: The remainder of the meeting concerned the Walktoberfest and how to proceed. After much discussion, Kay Brejcha made a motion that we have a virtual walk, on October 4th, with sponsors at different levels (similar to last years), and to continue to provide T-shirts. Sara seconded the motion. The motion passed. Todd and Tim will look into doing a Facebook Push. Kay will call David House at International to see if there are changes in costs to use Event Runner. Sara and Bill will finalize documents to be used for sponsors and virtual walkers
Speaker: The speaker at the next meeting will be David House who will also be presenting awards.
Adjournment: Brett Benton made a motion to adjourn. Bill Tetro seconded the motion.
